Lois, Molly and Zula were the original Alpaca guards for the goats. Unfortunately we lost Molly in Autumn 2024 due to her age. Molly was born in March 2003, Lois in May 2007 and Zula in July 2008. Lois is probably the most dominant of the three, Zula the most inquisitive, she likes to come to say ‘hello’ nose to nose.

They are brilliant with the goats and soon put up the warning alarm if there is anything strange about. These are Suri Alpacas, which are a rare breed, making up only 5% of the world alpaca population. They have a super soft fleece that grows into a dreadlock style that we trim every other year, which is always a challenge.
